URL: Adobe PDF/docs/Gender%20and%20access%20to%20land%2Epdf
Description The present volume is part of a series of Land Tenure Studies produced by FAO’s Land Tenure Service of the Rural Development Division. The guide aims to show where and why gender inclusion is important in projects and programmes that aim at improving land tenure and land administration arrangements. It provides material to raise awareness of some of the most critical gender issues that threaten access to land and its benefits. The guide emphasises the importance of developing a better understanding of the situation for men and women when societies are undergoing great economic, social, and environmental pressures. It identifies indicators for measuring the quality and quantity of access to land and housing before, during, and after an intervention to help inform decisions. Key words: gender, género, access to land, acceso a la tierra, community, comunidad, food security, seguridad alimentaria, equidad, equity, FAO, Food and Agriculture Organization Link: ftp://ftp.fao.org/docrep/fao/005/y4308e/y4308e00.pdf Related link: ftp://ftp.fao.org/docrep/fao/005/y4308s/y4308s00.pdf
